Issue #1
"Beginning of the Nightmare"

When I first watched Candyman in the basement with half of my middle school volleyball team, I had not the slightest clue where those 101 minutes of pure terror would lead me. I fervently prayed that I would never watch anything like that ever again while the other girls collectively decided to watch The Notebook next. As one would say, a “palate cleanser.” Yet maybe… just maybe, me laughing during the most heartbreaking scene of Allie’s monologue to a dying Noah should have been a blaring sign that I would never be the same again.

Fast Forward to 2023: I’m picking up my first Indie Horror novel that would skyrocket me into the horror lit community. After talking about my love of the genre with enough fervor to spark interest in D.C. Habib and his team, I was presented with an incredible opportunity. Here I am, sitting before you and presenting a project I am beyond proud to be a part of. I know that I can speak on behalf of Kelsee, Daniel, and Mia when I say your presence here means the world to us. I see how our collective love of horror has woven together to present to you Nightmare Curator and why independent creators deserve their time to shine. I know that we are small, but the indie horror community is mighty. I genuinely can not wait to see what we all create together. Thank you so much for reading. We could not do it without you, dear reader.

Stay Spooky!
